What is Shopify Plus checkout extensibility?

Checkout extensibility refers to the suite of tools Shopify Plus merchants can use to customise the checkout: Checkout UI Extensions (add custom fields, upsells, loyalty blocks), the Checkout Branding API (fonts, colours, layout), and Checkout Metafields. These replace the legacy checkout.liquid file, which Shopify is deprecating. Plus checkout extensibility is what allows merchants to add custom functionality without modifying core checkout code.

What is the Shopify Plus B2B portal?

Shopify Plus includes native B2B functionality: company accounts (a single company can have multiple buyer contacts), custom catalogues per company or contact, tiered pricing, quantity rules, net payment terms (Net 15/30/60), and draft orders. What are Shopify Functions and do I need them?

Shopify Functions are serverless code extensions that run inside Shopify's infrastructure. They let you customise discount logic, payment method filtering, shipping option generation, and cart transformation beyond what apps and Flow allow. Most brands do not need custom Functions on day one — they become relevant when your business logic is complex enough that no existing app or Flow workflow can handle it.

Do you work with existing Shopify Plus merchants?

Yes.
