Is Drupal 7 really end of life and what does that mean?

Yes. Drupal 7 reached official End of Life on 5 January 2025. From that date, the Drupal Security Team no longer issues security advisories or patches for Drupal 7 core. If a vulnerability is discovered — and they continue to be — your site will not receive a fix. For organisations subject to Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, DSPT, or public sector IT security frameworks, running EOL software is a compliance failure. Upgrading to Drupal 10 is the correct and only supported path.

What is headless Drupal and should we use it?

You keep Drupal's powerful content model and editorial tools while gaining a modern, high-performance frontend.
