How do you handle search and filtering at scale?
For directories with thousands of listings, we use Algolia or MeiliSearch for sub-100ms search results with typo tolerance and faceted filtering. For smaller directories, PostgreSQL full-text search with proper indexing performs excellently and is simpler to maintain. We recommend based on your projected listing volume.
Can businesses submit their own listings?
Yes. We build self-service listing submission flows where businesses can create a free profile, claim an existing listing, and optionally upgrade to a paid featured listing. All submissions go through an admin approval queue before going live.
