Why we often recommend Framer over Webflow now

Both are great. But for marketing sites that need to move fast and look sharp, Framer has quietly pulled ahead.

Why we often recommend Framer over Webflow now

We've been building on both platforms for three years. Until mid-2024 we recommended Webflow for most no-code marketing site projects. That's changed.

Framer's component model is more intuitive for designers who think in interfaces rather than web primitives. The animation tooling is better for the motion-forward sites clients now expect. And the hosting is simpler, one plan, sensible limits, no surprise overages.

Webflow still has an edge for content-heavy sites with complex CMS requirements, and for projects where a developer needs deep control over the generated HTML. The CMS is more mature and the logic system is richer.

But for a twelve-page marketing site for a startup or SME? Framer. Every time. It ships faster, looks better out of the box, and the client can edit it without calling us.

“The motion we keep tends to be functional. The rest is tax the user did not agree to pay.”
